During my recent stay at Shimaya, I had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant, Mikawa-tei. The ambiance was serene, allowing me to relax and truly enjoy the culinary offerings. The meal featured a range of seasonal ingredients, blending traditional flavors with a touch of innovation. I opted for the local fish, expertly prepared and beautifully presented, which definitely reflected the region's rich culinary heritage. Breakfast was another highlight, providing good value for what was served. I appreciated the variety, with fresh fruits and hearty Japanese staples that fueled me for my adventures. To the dining experiences, the location of the ryokan made it easy to explore nearby eateries. Just a short stroll away, I discovered Izakaya Kushidoraku, which offered a delightful atmosphere and interesting dishes.
